Champagne hangovers. They're almost nonexistent.

Right now I am roasting a chicken in my toaster oven! This thing has convection bake! Awesome!

Anyway, it smells the same way it does when Mom makes it, so it reminds me of home. Knowing that it's going to taste AWESOME makes me smile!

... and makes my tummy grumble. I decided kinda late in the day that I wanted a roast chicken for supper. It won't be ready for another hour and a half or so Sad

My dance slippers came in the mail today, which means no more cold feet during belly dancing!

They're a bit tight for my sasquatch feet, but they'll do for now. When they wear out then I'll get a size up.

I may have just imagined that last bit.

Well, convocation, of course. It's a great day, all the people are happy (the unhappy people not being on campus), and it's always nice to meet the parents. Plus, we had little muffins. I definitely recommend attending your graduation.

Did you attend all of yours? I'm just wondering about the smaller ceremonies for grad-level degrees.

I went to both. I skipped the MSc (this is common in chemistry) and went straight to the PhD, and we went to that one. At McGill, the grad school has its own cerremony and it's actually fairly large; there were about as many grad students at McGill then as there are students at X now, so you could be graduating several hundred. It was quite nice, though not as meaningful as my undergrad one.

Yep - my brother was thinking about switching to a PhD (he was taking a MSc in chemistry in U of Ottawa) but it just got harder to go to higher grad programs since people aren't eager to graduate til the jobs pick up. A part of the economic downturn I hadn't anticipated.

Pedal totally reminded me of more than a smile: today I laughed uproariously at a girl who exited Bebe today wearing this "retro" fringed faux-gold jumpsuit with feathered stilettoes and a lamé purse the size of a hockey bag, shrieking at her boyfriend because he wouldn't buy her new shoes. Big chucks! OhEmGee!
