Basically I am trying to put programs for dot and cross products on my calculator and it's not going so well. I don't have the factory cord or software CD so I am using a USB cord that fits and TI Connect software from the TI site that Windows says didn't install properly. I tried putting the software on my Vista 64-bit and that didn't work and with the magic of Google I found out TI is useless in backing up their software so I did the same thing with a Vista 32-bit computer and, while still getting all the uninsuring faulty installation warnings, I was able to at least find the calculator with the program. I use TI Connect to explore my calculators files, I drag and drop the programs I get out of .zip folders into the window and it appears to show them. I press the PRGM button on the calculator and I see all the programs I added to it and when I select them, input anything, and press ENTER I get a ERR:SYNTAX message for all of them. I have absolutely no experience with these calculators so I could be not installing the programs properly or just not even using them properly, I have no idea. The programs I am trying to use are AutoDot, AutoX, CrossProd and Vectors. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. _________________ I dreamed of a place to learn. sounds like a problem with the code... I'm assuming they're ASM's and not TI_BASIC, or they're meant for a different calculator _________________ Man is the lowest-cost, 150-pound, nonlinear, all-purpose computer system which can be mass-produced by unskilled labor. |

You might want to check into the programs you're trying to install and see if they require another program to run from... I know when I put some programs on mine, there was another program that had to be installed first... and then in order to run the initial ones, I had to open up that host program and run them from there. ...I hope that made sense in anybody elses head besides mine. |

SYTAC is supposed to be a code error, true, but I downloaded them under the TI-84 Plus category so they should be compatable and it's not likely that 4 random programs from a list are all faulty. That might be it I will have to check it out more, I know to run games you need some program installed first so it might be the same for these programs. Thanks for the suggestions. _________________ I dreamed of a place to learn. To see things I never seen before and understand concepts I never knew existed. I got it figured it. The programs I download to the calculator get saved into archive and are unable to be used, they have to be removed from archive and switched to RAM in the calculator. I read a little on this but what I understood at the time was that they`re supposed to be archived, and they were, so I didn`t think that was the problem. All sorted out though, thanks for the help. _________________ I dreamed of a place to learn. To see things I never seen before and understand concepts I never knew existed.
