I was just wondering what people thought about Vertebrate Physiology? Interesting/Boring? Easy/ Hard? Is Angela Beye a good prof? Any thoughts would be appreciated! Also, what is field biology all about? Is it really from 8 am- 8 pm? What do you do? Lots of work? Fun/Useful? Lots of calculations? Again, anything you can tell me would be helpful because the course description does not suffice. Thanks! |

Field bio is HIGHLY recommended! You literally go from 8 until 8, sometimes 10 or 11 at night. It's intensive, but it's so worth it. Every morning you go to JBB, go out to a location, and do an activity there. In the first week we would be out until 4 or 5, have an hour or two for supper, and then go back to the lab and interpret our data together, present it, and be home by 10ish. Second week was a little different but mostly the same idea, we camped out overnight in the second week. It's a ton of fun, you really learn a lot, and since it's such a small class you have a chance to get to know the people in it. The parties on Saturdays don't hurt either hahah. If there's any other questions I will try to answer them, you can PM me if you want. I took it this summer and would do it again in a heartbeat. Also, I really like Dr. Beye as a prof and I'm taking Vert phys next semester, looking forward to it. It's supposed to be tough but I find that if you put the work into her courses you get marks that reflect it. |
